Himachal Avalanche Updates: An avalanche hit the Shinkula-Darcha road area of ​​Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh on Sunday evening, killing two people.

According to reports, two laborers were killed and another went missing after being hit by an avalanche in Lahaul and Spiti.

Officials said that three daily wage laborers and a dozen snow cutters were buried under the snow due to an avalanche in Cheeka village of the district.

According to the State Emergency Operation Centre, the bodies of Ram Budha of Nepal and Rakesh of Chamba have been recovered, while 27-year-old Pasang Tshering Lama, a resident of Nepal, is missing and feared buried under snow.

A rescue team comprising police, health officials and members of the District Disaster Management Authority reached the spot and launched the rescue operation.

The rescue operation was called off due to low temperature and low visibility during the night. The rescue operation will be resumed on Monday morning.

Avalanche in Gulmarg

Earlier, two foreign nationals were killed and one seriously injured in a massive avalanche in the Afarwat hills on Wednesday at a famous ski resort in Gulmarg in Baramulla district.

The avalanche hit the Apharwat peak Hapath Khad in Gulmarg, a famous ski resort.

3 teams consisting of 21 foreign nationals and 2 local guides went to Gulmarg for skiing. On receiving information, Baramulla Police mobilized joint rescue teams of J&K Police and Tourism Department.
