Controversy started over the ban on wearing hijab in a college in Karnataka is not taking its name to stop. Women are on the streets across the country on this issue. The Karnataka High Court has issued an interim order prohibiting the wearing of religiously identifiable clothing, be it saffron shawls or hijabs, in schools and colleges for the time being.

The Supreme Court refused to stay this decision of the High Court, but on Friday, pictures of women and other organizations raising their voices in support of Hijab in 6 states of the country came to the fore. In one state the city qazi supported the hijab. At the same time, there was a view of expressing objection to wearing hijab in another state.

In the capital Delhi too, there were demonstrations in many places regarding the Hijab controversy of Karnataka.  JNU students also took to the streets regarding this.  The police have detained several protesters.

After Karnataka, now the controversy over hijab has started in Rajasthan too. In Jaipur’s Chaksu, some girl students reached Kasturi Devi College wearing hijab and burqa on Friday.
