Hidden cameras found in washroom of Karachi school

Several hidden cameras were found in the washroom of a private school in Karachi, Pakistan on Friday. After the incident, Sindh Education Department has canceled the registration of the school. Local media reported that the education department has also asked the school administration to give a show cause notice in the matter.

An official notification issued by the education department said that the CCTV cameras were surreptitiously installed in the men’s washrooms and in the common washrooms used by both female teachers and students.

The women were being filmed with hidden cameras, education department officials confirmed, with several women reporting the presence of cameras in washrooms to the department.

The school administration, on the other hand, has said that the cameras in the washrooms were installed for “surveillance purposes”.

The report said that as per the notification of the Education Department, the registration of the school will remain suspended till the completion of the investigation.

Regarding the matter, Imran Riaz, the head of the Sindh Cyber ​​Crime Zone of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), said that no complaint has been received regarding the recorded video so far.
