Ishan Kishan talks to the fan who asked him to sign his mobile phone which already has MS Dhoni’s autograph on it.
On his return to Ranchi, he was inundated with requests for autographs. But a fan stood up and requested Kishan to sign the back of his phone, which already had MS Dhoni’s autograph.
It was last week when Ishan Kishan scored the fastest ODI double century and became the toast of the nation. If fans thought he could do everything humanly possible, they were wrong. The 23-year-old hesitated to perform the act, which was requested by a fan from his hometown Ranchi.

The Jharkhand youngster had earlier scored 200 off just 126 balls in the third ODI against Bangladesh in Chattogram. With this feat, he joined Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Rohit Sharma as only the fourth India Batsman to record ODI double. On his return to Ranchi where he was playing a Ranji Trophy match against Kerala, he was inundated with requests for autographs. But one fan stood out. It looked like a simple signature request, but it wasn’t. In fact, the fan had requested Kishan to give his autograph on the back of his phone, which already had the autograph of the legendary MS Dhoni.
As the room was packed, Kishan was reluctant to sign MSD’s autograph. The entire incident was recorded on Vimal Kumar’s YouTube channel.
“It is Mahi Bhai’s signature and he wants my autograph on his. I can not do this. do one thing. Why take it on the phone? I’ll autograph it on something else nice,” said Ishan, but when the fan still didn’t budge, the 23-year-old said, “It’s up to you, but how do I sign at the same pace as Dhoni bhai?” This is his signature, how can I write anything on it?”

However, he agreed after much thought and somehow gave Dhoni’s autograph below
“We haven’t reached that level yet. I’ll sign that below? OK. There you go.”
On asking, the fan revealed his reason behind getting Ishaan and Dhoni’s signatures on his phone. “I wanted to get his signature on my phone. It is a bit unusual and since both are stars from Jharkhand, I had to do it. There are many people who can have autographs of both Dhoni and Ishaan. I have seen Ishaan since he started playing under-16. I have been working here for 5-6 years so I know him. He respects this ground even today. It felt really good. I know Dhoni sir too, not personally but I see him here often.”
