Here’s when Apple could ‘break up’ with Intel completely – Times of India

Back in November 2020, Apple Announced its own silicon processor called the M1. M1 processor brought a new Macbook Airhandjob macbook Pro and Mac Mini in tow. Apple also indicated when it would complete the transition from Intel-based devices to M1-based devices.
Now, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg has detailed when the transition will be complete. In his weekly newsletter, Gurman has said that Apple may complete the transition by November 2022. Apple had set a two-year deadline and Gurman believes it could “barely hit” that target.


What M1 based devices can we expect

According to Gurman, the new MacBook Pro models are the next devices that are expected to be powered by the M1 processor. However, it could be an advanced processor called the M1X. MacBook Pro models — 14-inch and 16-inch — may arrive in the coming months.
Next up could be a new high-end Mac Mini that will come after the MacBook Pro model. No specific date has been disclosed by Gurman.
Starting from 2022, iMac Will be a fully M1 powered device. Apple launched the first M1-based iMac earlier this year in April. The smaller Mac Pro along with the M1 is also expected to arrive later in 2022.
Last but not least, a brand new resigned MacBook Air with the upgraded M1 processor is also being planned in 2022. This MacBook Air is also expected to come with MagSafe support, says Gurman.


Will there no longer be Intel-based Mac devices?
