HUBBALLI: Incessant rainfall have thrown normal life out of gear in several parts of north Karnataka and have claimed a life in Haveri district.
A woman, identified as Nimbavva, died after a house collapsed in Tumarikoppa village of Haveri’s Hanagal taluk.

Rainfall started around 6am along with thunderstorm and lightning in many districts of the region.
Haveri and Gadag deputy commissioners immediately declared a holiday for school and colleges in the wake heavy rainfall.

Koppal DDPI has declared a holiday for school and colleges only in Koppal taluk.
Meteorological department has issued an alert of heavy rainfall in next 3 hours across the state.

However, Dharwad DC Gurudatta Hegde asserted by 9am that no holiday was declared for school and colleges in the district.
At the other end, search operation continued at Ingalahalli village, where Anand Hiregoudar (24) was washed away in Bennehalla water.
Reports of house collapse, roads submerging, crop loss are pouring in from Gadag, Haveri, Dharwad and other districts.
