Maharashtra RainsThe India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Monday that heavy rain alert has been issued in Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune, Beed, Latur, Jalna, Parbhani and many other areas of Maharashtra.

A civic official said Palghar is likely to receive heavy rains from Monday to July 8 and citizens have been asked to take precautions, including not going out for fishing and visiting water bodies in the area.

Palghar district disaster cell chief Vivekananda Kadam said people have been asked to keep their cattle safe, while those living in colonies along the hills as well as rivers have been asked to shift to safer areas.

NDRF teams have been deployed in Mumbai, Nagpur, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Mahad and Raigad in consultation with the local administration.
