Monsoon has covered entire Saurashtra of Gujarat. On Wednesday, 6 inches of rain in Bhavnagar district created a flood situation within 3 hours, while Valsad district received 5 inches of rain in 4 hours on Wednesday night. The roads turned into rivers due to heavy rains. Due to this many low-lying areas were flooded. People struggled till late night to get water out of the house. If we look at the rain in the entire district, 158 mm of rain has been recorded in Valsad city, 50 in Vapi, 80 in Pardi, 23 in Dharampur, 9 in Kaprada and 4 mm in Umargam tehsil.

Rain continues from this morning
Heavy rain continued in the district from 9 pm to around 1 am. Since then, the spell of drizzling rain has continued. Areas of the city including Chipwad, MG Road, Abrama area, Tithal road, Hallar road have been submerged. Many shops in the areas including MG Road, Nani Khatriwad have been flooded with rain water. After heavy rains, shopkeepers have to move their goods to safer places.

High alert information in Bhavnagar’s Bagad
At the same time, talking about Bhavnagar district, due to heavy rains here, the Bagad Dam has been filled 100 percent and the inflow of water is also going on. Due to this there is a situation of 0.15 mm overflow in the dam. The outflow of water in the reservoir was recorded at 10.15 hrs last night at 4764 cusecs. Due to which information has been issued to the people living in low-lying areas to be on high alert.

Apart from this, heavy rains are also continuing in many parts of the surrounding rural areas including Karamdiya, Matalpar, Beda, Monpar, Navagam, Titodiya, Dharai, Ralgon, Borla.
