Heavy rain disrupts normal life in Old Mysuru; holiday declared for schools in Mandya, Chamarajanagar | Mysuru News – Times of India

MYSURU: Authorities in Mandya and Chamarajanagar districts announced a holiday for schools following heavy rainfall in Old Mysuru region.
Traffic movement on Mysuru-Bengaluru road in Ramanagar district was also affected.

According to KSNDMC officials, the rain started around 4.30am on Monday.

In Mandya, the district administration has announced a holiday for classes up to X, including Anganavadis. The neighboring Chamarajanagar district administration announced a holiday for college students till degree classes.
Meanwhile, the vehicle movement between Mysuru and Bengaluru was disrupted.

According to KSRTC officials from Mandya, the vehicles were diverted in many places in Ramanagar district.
In Mysuru, the flower and fruit sellers, who were expecting a good business ahead of Gauri festival, were disappointed as many roads in the city were waterlogged.
