Recently, information about extreme heat and heat stroke has come to the fore in many states. The Department of School Education and Literacy, Government of Jharkhand issued an order on Monday, June 12, 2023, stating that all schools in the state will remain closed till June 14 in view of the ongoing heatwave in the state. Whereas in Bihar’s capital Patna, due to extreme heat, all educational activities up to class 12th have been banned by the District Magistrate from June 12 to June 18.

The State Education Department said in its circular that in view of the extreme heat and delay in monsoon, it has been decided by the competent authorities to give holidays to all government, government aided, non-government, higher education institutions etc. It has been directed to make good the academic loss caused.

Due to the increase in temperature, the education of children in schools has become extremely difficult. That’s why holidays are now being declared in various states. About two days before Jharkhand, the Goa government had also declared a holiday in the schools of its state.
