On Thursday, the Supreme Court heard a petition seeking cancellation of class 12th examinations of state boards. During this, the court directed all the state education boards to declare the results of class 12th by July 31. Also, the court has asked them to prepare an internal assessment scheme in 10 days.

Earlier, the court refused to pass an order regarding the creation of a uniform scheme of assessment for all state boards across India. The court said that the states and their boards are free and autonomous to make their own policy. Therefore, they will not interfere in their jurisdiction.

What was demanded in the petition?
Advocate Anubha Sahay Srivastava had filed a petition in the Supreme Court demanding that the 12th class examination of state boards be banned. The petition was pending for a long time. During this many states decided to cancel the examinations. Class 12 exams have already been conducted in 6 states. It is yet to be decided in Andhra Pradesh only. In such a situation, the petitioner demanded from the court that an order should be issued regarding making a uniform scheme of assessment by canceling all the examinations.

CBSE will also release the result on July 31
Last week, a 13-member committee formed to prepare the results of class 12 of CBSE Board also submitted its report in the Supreme Court. Gave it. In this, the board had told about the formula for releasing the result. According to the board’s draft, the pre-board results of class 10th, 11th and 12th will be made the basis of the final result. The board had said to release the result on July 31. The court had also approved the draft of the board.

What was the assessment formula

  • As per CBSE’s formula to prepare the 12th marksheet, out of the 5 subjects of class 10th, the 3 in which the student has scored the highest will be selected for preparing the result.
  • Similarly, the average of all the five subjects of class 11th will be taken and the marks obtained in unit, term and practical of class 12th will be made the basis of the result.
  • 10th and 11th marks will be given 30-30% weightage and 12th marks will be given 40% weightage.
  • For the children who want to take the exam, arrangements will be made for a separate examination between August 15 and September 15, if the situation becomes normal.
