Rohit Sharma’s leadership ability has been praised by many fans. Some also said that the five-time champions have finally found the right playing XI.

Delhi Capitals got off to a good start after Mumbai won the toss and elected to field first. Delhi captain David Warner and Manish Pandey thrashed Mumbai bowlers fiercely in the powerplay overs. However, Mumbai kept taking wickets at regular intervals. Warner’s slow batting in the middle overs and Piyush Chawla’s superb bowling limited the hosts. In fact, Delhi were 98 for 5 at one stage. Axar Patel’s blistering knock of 54 off 25 balls helped Delhi post 172 runs on the board.

When it seemed that Delhi had managed to claw their way back into the match, the Mumbai openers seized the opportunity. Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan shared a 71-run opening partnership and tore apart Delhi’s formidable bowling attack.
In the 16th over, Delhi’s Mukesh Kumar made things interesting by dismissing Tilak Verma and Suryakumar Yadav in quick succession. In the end, Tim David and Cameron Green showed great mental fortitude to take Mumbai Indians across the winning line. Thanks to the win on Tuesday, Mumbai has reached the eighth position.
