Union Rural Development Minister Giriraj Singh called up the senior Congress leader on Tuesday Rahul Gandhi ‘Brainless’ in Italian after reacting to Centre’s ‘no deaths due to lack of oxygen during second wave’ remark.
“I would say this prince who lacked brains then, remembers it now and he will remember it forever. These lists are compiled by the states. You have to submit revised lists to the states ruled by your party. Till then stop lying,” read the translation of Singh’s tweet, as he targeted Gandhi’s ‘Italian’ roots.

The Union minister’s response came after Gandhi’s tweet, “It was not just lack of oxygen. There was a severe lack of sensitivity and truth – then it was, it is today.”
The Center on Tuesday informed the Rajya Sabha that during the second Covid-19 wave, no deaths were reported by the states and union territories, especially due to lack of oxygen. But during the second wave there was an unprecedented increase in the demand for medical oxygen and it reached around 9000 MT as compared to 3095 MT in the first wave, after which the Center had to step in to facilitate equitable distribution among the states.
