Rajasthan Royals head coach Kumar Sangakkara heaped praise on young batting sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal after he tore apart the Mumbai Indians bowlers and scored his maiden IPL century. Jaiswal displayed his class at his home cricket ground and scored 124 off 62 balls to take the Royals to a mammoth score of 212/7. The Royals head coach said that Jaiswal is very hardworking and prepares well in the nets before every match.
“He is not only extremely talented but also works really hard. He has spent a lot of time in preparation, a lot of time in the nets working on his preparation. He has worked on his game for three to four years with us. And it shows that he is very focused and motivated and the results are showing,” Sangakkara said at the post-match press conference.
“He played beautifully today. He batted almost the entire innings, which was exceptional. He set us up for a great total. Yash has a long way to go not only with us but also at the international level. He just needs to work hard. Need to keep doing, keep scoring runs and keep knocking on doors. However, Jaiswal’s knock went in vain as Mumbai Indians pulled off a last-over thriller to topple Rajasthan Royals.
