‘He Has Done So Well In World Cup’, Dada Hails Rohit Sharma For T20 Captaincy

Rohit Sharma is on a break from Cricket since India lost the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 Final against Australia. In his absence Suryakumar Yadav is leading the Men In Blue for the T20I series against Australia. His request to BCCI for a break from white-ball cricket in South Africa has been accepted, though, he has been named as team captain for the test series against South Africa. Amid speculations regarding the T20 Captaincy offered to him once again by BCCI, former Indian Captain Sourav Ganguly expressed his willingness to see Rohit Sharma leading the Men In Blue,

During a media interaction, Sourav stated “Once Rohit is back playing cricket he should be the captain of India because he’s done so well in the World Cup. He’s a leader. So I expect, and I presume that he will continue as captain till the T20 World Cup”

After India’s exit in T20 World Cup in 2022, Rohit had actually been reluctant to play the T20 games as he focused more on One Day Internationals. According to reports, the apex cricket board wants Rohit to lead the team in all three formats, which means, if he accepts the offer, he’ll lead the Indian team in the T20 World Cup 2024.
