Currently, R Balki is busy with ‘Chup’, which marks his debut in the genre of thriller. The film is written by R Balki and is based on the story he started working on a few years back. The screenplay and dialogues are co-written by R Balki, critic-turned-writer Raja Sen and Rishi Virmani. Speaking about the film, R Balki said in a statement, “Chup is a tribute to the sensitive artist, and Guru Dutt Right on top of that list. I’ve had the story for a long time and I’m glad we finally wrote it and it’s almost done.”
R Balki had received rave reviews for his directorial ‘Ki & Ka’ and the filmmaker had hinted at the possibility of a sequel to the powerful entertainer. Talking to Bombay Times, the filmmaker had shared, “Bebo, Arjun and I had a great time working together. In fact, we have talked about working together again many, many times after that. As for sequels, I’ve never done a sequel for any of my films before for a variety of reasons. Just imagine, when we first made Ki & Ka, we had to explain a lot of things in detail. Today, if I had to make a sequel, it would be easier to handle, with less explanation to explain because things have really changed a lot around us. Having said that, I have no idea about making a sequel. Yesterday when Bebo and Arjun were talking to me, it was only then that I realized that there could actually be a sequel here. let’s watch! If there is an idea, maybe…we will look into it.”
