Haryana: Two Karnal officials caught taking bribe | Gurgaon News – Times of India

KARNAL: Two officials including a Junior engineer of HSVP and a Patwari of the revenue department were caught red-handed while allegedly accepting bribes in Karnal on Wednesday.
The bribe money was recovered from both the accused, who were caught in separate operations by the teams of the Haryana State vigilance bureau in a day.
In the first case, the HSVP JE identified as Praduman was arrested red-handed with a Rs 50,000 bribe. The accused JE was taking the bribe in lieu of issuing a completion certificate to the complainant, the official claimed.
Inspector Sachin Kumar, who leads the team, said that besides trapped money, the team recovered Rs 19,93,100 from his residence in Karnal.
He said that he has been booked under the prevention of corruption Act and the investigation is on.
in the second case, the accused Patwari identified as Harminder alias Prince posted Nigdhu in Karnal district was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 5000.
Inspector Sachin Kumar said that a person from Kamalpur village had approached the bureau alleging that the Patwari was demanding a bribe in lieu of measuring his agricultural land.
After verifying the facts, a team was formed led by inspector Seema and arrested the accused red-handed with Rs 5000 bribe money.
A case has been registered against him under the prevention of corruption Act.
