Gurugram: A 30-year-old man working on a food delivery app was shot dead in Rewari on Sunday night when he was on his way to deliver an order. Police suspects robbery as Mahendra Singh’s purse and phone are missing
Singh had reached Ansal Basti in Sector 19 at around 10 pm on Sunday when unknown assailants attacked him. He has a bullet mark in his stomach.
Police said that two passers-by on scooters took Singh to a nearby hospital. From there he was referred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi after his condition deteriorated. He died of bullet injuries late in the night.
Police said the team inspecting the spot near Ansal town found some empty bullet shells there.
Singh, originally from Hudithal village in Palwal, had moved to Rewari with his wife and 10-year-old son two years ago, hoping for better opportunities. Here he started working as a food delivery executive. An FIR has been registered against unknown people at Model Town police station.
