Haryana cop, his daughter-in-law held with 101g heroin | Gurgaon News – Times of India

KURUKSHETRA: The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA)-I of Kurukshetra police arrested a sub-inspector (SI) posted in Yamunanagar and his daughter-in-law, after recovering 101g heroin from their possession in Shahabad area.
The police confiscated their car, which was used for smuggling the contraband.
The arrested accused have been identified as Gurdev Singh and his daughter-in-law Simranjeet Kaur, both residents of Saran village in Yamunanagar district.
The accused were arrested during ‘Operation Akraman’ against drug smugglers run by the Kurukshetra district on Monday.
Yamunanagar police spokesman said that SI Gurdev was last posted in the security of Sadhaura MLA Renu Bala in the district and was suspended by the superintendent of police (SP) on Tuesday, after the registration of the NDPS case against him.
Kurukshetra CIA-I in-charge inspector Karambir Singh said that both Gurdev and Simranjeet were produced in the district court on Tuesday, which granted their three-day police remand for further investigation.
To a query, inspector Karambir said, “So far, no criminal record of Gurdev came to light and it is being investigated since how long he was indulged in drug peddling.”
