Haryana: 35-year-old man kills son after wife runs away in Gurugram, attempts suicide. Gurgaon News – Times of India

GURUGRAM: A 35-year-old man allegedly poisoned his four-year-old son in a village in Haryana’s Gurugram and later attempted to commit suicide as he was upset over his wife eloping with another man. The police gave this information on Thursday.

Police said that on Wednesday evening, when his elder son Mohit (10) was at a local shop, Mittal poisoned Bharat and then took his own life by consuming the same.
When Mohit returned home, he raised the alarm and alerted the neighbors, who took him to the hospital, police officials said, after Bharat was declared “brought dead”.
An FIR was registered against Mittal under sections 302 (murder) and 328 (causing hurt by poison) of the IPC at the Farrukhnagar police station on the basis of a complaint by his sister.
Police said Rajesh Mittal’s wife Payal had eloped with Monu a few days back after a domestic dispute.
“We handed over the body to the family after post-mortem and are awaiting the statement of accused Rajesh Mittal. The matter is being investigated and action will be taken as per law.”
