New Delhi: A 15-year-old student of Delhi Public School, Faridabad died by suicide and blamed the school administration in a suicide note, news agency ANI reported police as informing on Saturday.
As per the report, the teenage student was allegedly being bullied and harassed by some other students in the school and there was no action taken by the school even after a complaint.
Subey Singh, a spokesperson from the Faridabad police station said that the incident took place on Thursday, informing that “the boy used to study at Delhi Public School (DPS) Faridabad in class 10, where his mother was a teacher too. Last year, two other students started harassing the deceased by making lewd remarks against him. He told of it to the school authorities but allegedly no actions were taken.”
“The deceased was at home due to lockdown for some time but after the schools reopened, he started going to school. He was again being mentally tortured there. The boy asked for help from a teacher to understand a subject but she instead accused the boy and his mother of troubling her unnecessarily,” Singh added.
As per the ANI report, the deceased’s mother has written a formal complaint with the police in which she has mentioned that her son went into depression because of the pressure at school and was being treated for the same.
“The deceased has left a suicide note written at home in which he has blamed DPS (Faridabad) school administration and harassment by the children, the cause of his suicide. He has also described his mother as a brave woman,” Singh further added.
Due to the pressure, the boy allegedly jumped from the balcony of his residence when the mother was not at home. She was later informed by the neighbors about the incident and that he is being taken to the hospital. She got to know at the hospital that he did not survive.
Station House Officer (SHO), Faridabad police, Arjun said, said, “FIR has been registered and action is being taken as per mother’s complaint against school’s academic head.” The investigation is going on in the case.
