Born on 6 June 1983, Rakshit Shetty studied engineering from NMAM Technical College, Karnataka. He worked as a software professional for about two years before he decided to follow his dreams and pursue a career in cinema.
Shetty began his career as a short film producer with Let’s Kill Gandhi and several unpublished ventures.
She entered the film industry with the 2010 Kannada film Naam Ariel Ond Dina.
Rakshit occupied the director’s chair for his film ‘Ullidavaru Kandante’, which released in 2014. The outstanding film won him the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Film for the director’s debut and the Filmfare Award South for Best Director.
