The film also starred Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar and Pallavi Joshi. Not being a Bollywood legend, having a serious subject and little hype, the film was not expected to do well. Prior to his appearance in The Kashmir Files, the actor was seen in a horror film titled 12 ‘O’Clock. Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, the story revolves around a young girl Gauri, who is traumatized after incidents of nightmares and terrifying sleepwalking. Mithun Da was seen alongside Flora Saini, Manav Kaul, Krishna Gautam and Makarand Deshpande. Despite Mithun Chakraborty and Manav Kaul’s efforts to take the narrative forward, 12 PM failed to grab the attention of the audience. - Tashkent Files
In 2019, Mithun Chakraborty collaborated with Agnihotri for The Tashkent Files. The film was about the mysterious death of former Indian Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. The film received mixed reviews and earned a total of Rs. 17.21 crore, reported Bollywood Hungama.

The veteran on-screen pairing of Mithun Chakraborty and Mamta Shankar is all set to reunite in Avijit Sen’s upcoming project Prozapoti. Revolving around the heartwarming story of a father and his son, the film is likely to go on floors by July 5 this year. It will be shot in Kolkata and Varanasi. The cast will also include Konenika Banerjee and Ambareesh Bhattacharya.
