Hanuma Vihari, Abhimanyu Easwaran among seven Indian cricketers to play in Dhaka Premier League

Seven Indian cricketers, including Test star Hanuma Vihari, have signed up with various teams in Bangladesh’s Dhaka Premier League for the upcoming season. Apart from Vihari, Test candidates Abhimanyu Easwaran, Parvez Rasool, Baba Aparajit, Ashok Menaria, Chirag Jani and Gurinder Singh will also take part in the DPL 2022.

All seven did not sell in the IPL 2022 auction. Vihari will play for Abahani Limited but will miss his first three matches of the season as he is returning home for a short break after being part of India’s recent 2-0 Test series win against Sri Lanka at home.

Bengal’s Ranji captain Easwaran has been signed by Prime Bank, while Rasool, who has played one ODI and one T20I for India, is going to represent Sheikh Jamal Dhanmandi.

The undefeated Roopganj will appear for Tigers, Jani for Roopganj, and Gurinder for Ghazi Group Cricketers and Menaria for Khelaghar.

Prominent Indian cricketers including Dinesh Karthik, Yusuf Pathan and Manoj Tiwary have played in the DPL in the past.

A total of 11 teams will participate in the DPL starting from March 15.

Besides this, Pakistan’s Mohammad Hafeez (Mohammed Sporting) and Zimbabwe all-rounder Sikandar Raza (Shainepukur) will also add star power to the league, devoid of Bangladesh’s top cricketers who are on national duty to tour South Africa.
