Doctors on Thursday claimed that a 55-year-old man in Jharkhand, who was lying in bed after a road accident five years ago, started walking and speaking after being given the first dose of the Kovidshield vaccine.

Doctors said that Dularchand Munda, a resident of Salgadih village of Uttasara panchayat area of ​​Peterwar block of Bokaro district, was bedridden after an accident five years ago and unable to walk and speak.

Dr. Albela Kerketta said, “An Anganwadi worker administered the Kovishield vaccine to Munda at his home on January 4. After receiving his first dose of Covishield – the anti-COVID vaccine, he not only stood up and started walking, but could speak much to his family’s surprise, he said.

“We have seen his report. It is a matter for investigation,” said Dr. Kerketta. Munda, the sole breadwinner of his family, was seriously injured in a road accident. Civil surgeon Dr Kumar said, “It is a surprising incident. We will analyze his medical history.”

The shocked villagers of Salgadih, about 50 km from the district headquarters, termed it as divine intervention.
