Hailee Steinfeld and Shameik Moore exclusively spoke to News18 about Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Pavitra Prabhakar and others.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is all set to introduce the Indian version of Spider-Man who goes by the name of Pavitra Prabhakar. Covered in comic books in January 2005, Pavitra Prabhakar will appear in the comic book movie alongside Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) and Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld). The trailer has already shown glimpses of the superhero in action. The English version is voiced by Karan Soni while the Hindi version is voiced by Indian cricketer Shubman Gill.

While a section of fans who haven’t read all of the Spider-Man comics will be meeting the superhero for the first time, Hailee Steinfeld and Shameik Moore admitted that they too encountered the Indian superhero for the first time while working on Spider-Man Across . Spider verse.

Speaking exclusively to News18, the duo confessed that they did not know Pavitra Prabhakar before signing the film. “We didn’t know before. We didn’t know much before,” Hailey said with a smile. Add something to this movie and the world of Spider-Man that we’ve never seen before and I’m really excited about that.” Shamik agreed with her and added, “I just feel like the whole world was beautiful.”

While Pavitra is the new entry that Indian Spider-Man fans have been waiting for, there is another new Spider-Man that fans are Hailey and Shamik. They both agreed that their favorite Spider-Man in the film is Spider-Punk. The character is voiced by Daniel Kaluuya, debuting in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

Speaking of the character, Schmick said, “I think apart from our own characters, I think I have an affinity for Miles and Gwen, but I think when I first saw Spider-Punk’s entry Or the way they animated Spider-Punk, when he does his Spider-Punk stuff, hey! They went all the way. It almost looks like live-action. I didn’t even know that was possible . They definitely went out there for that character.” Hailey agreed.
