Mysuru: Two persons have been injured in a clash that erupted between two groups during the distribution of houses for beneficiaries at Hadya gram sabha meeting in Nanjangud taluk on Monday.
Ganesh from Hadya village and rajasekar from Khandhegala village were injured in the clash, police said, adding they were treated at the government hospital.
The incident happened during the announcement of names of the beneficiaries for the housing scheme.
A police officer told TOI that it is a politically sensitive village, said the be the stronghold of BJP and Congress,
The authorities had arranged a video recording of the gram sabha programme. Apart from that, some of villagers were also recording the proceedings on their cellphones.
“We will collect such clips to know who started the clash, and who all were involved in it,” the officer said, adding he will verify whether the fight was politically motivated.
