Talking about the struggles he faced during the tough times, Mohsin said that he was not able to raise his hand at one point of time.

Lucknow Super Giants fast bowler Mohsin Khan talked about the injury that kept him out of cricket for a long time after last season’s Indian Premier League. Mohsin impressed many in IPL 2022 by hitting 14 sixes in 9 matches but things went downhill for him as he had to undergo surgery to remove a blood clot in his bowling shoulder last year.

He also missed most of the IPL 2023 matches as he was recovering from surgery. However, after failing to make a major impact in his first two matches of the season, Mohsin made a comeback against Mumbai Indians. The left-arm pacer defended 11 runs in the final over from iconic finishers Tim David and Cameron Green on Tuesday. Mohsin was right on the money and bowled a few yorkers to keep MI finishers David and Green calm. He conceded just five runs and LSG registered a crucial 5-run win.

Mohsin thanked Rajeev Shukla, the LSG team management and family for supporting him during his difficult times while he was recovering from injury.

“My injury, I hope it doesn’t happen to any cricketer. It was a different kind of injury because my artery was completely blocked. The veins in my hand were completely blocked. The association, Rajeev Shukla sir, Gautam Gambhir sir, LSG franchise, Sanjeev sir, my family, everyone supported me,” Mohsin said at the post-match press conference.

Talking about the struggles he faced during the tough times, Mohsin said that he was not able to raise his hand at one point of time.

“Before and after my injury surgery, I struggled a lot and it was a tough time for me. I had lost hope of playing cricket as at one point I could not lift my arm. She wasn’t even straightening up completely,” Mohsin said.

He further said that the doctors told him that if he did not come on time for the surgery, he might have to amputate his hand.

“It was a medical thing. I still get scared thinking about it. The doctor told me that if I delayed for a month, we would have to amputate your hand,” Mohsin said.
