Gurugram: Clerics refute Muslim panel on Namaz sites. Gurgaon News – Times of India

Gurugram: Opposing the stand of a Muslim delegation, which had sought continuation of 37 designated Friday prayers sites, a group of clerics met Deputy Commissioner Yasho on Tuesday afternoon Garg saying Prayer Will be held only at 20 venues, which were agreed upon in a meeting between community representatives and government officials.
Members of the ‘Gurugram Imam Sangathan’ submitted a memorandum to the DC, as did the Gurugram Muslim Council led by former MP Mohammad Adeeb on Monday. He said the group was formed to “rise above petty politics”, manage Friday prayers, communicate with the government and others and ensure that “outsiders cannot interfere in this matter”.
Referring to the meeting held with Hindu organizations at Garg’s office on November 3, the memorandum said as per the decision taken there, prayers were offered “peacefully and quietly and with the consent of all” at only 20 places on November 5. Went.
But, it has been seen that some people claiming to be sympathizers of Muslim community are playing petty politics by making unnecessary statements in front of media and administration. They want to defame the government by damaging the image of Gurugram and weakening Hindu-Muslim unity.
Assuring the Deputy Commissioner of cooperation on the issue of Friday prayers, the imams said they all belonged to a “nationalist ideology”, “followed the rule of law” and offered prayers with the “agreement” of the residents and the administration.
“On behalf of the Muslim community, we assure you that in future there will be no unnecessary debates because of offering Namaz. If there is any problem because of any of our Imam, then that Imam will be removed from the organization and he will be banned from offering Namaz.
Maulana Muhammad Arshad Miftahi, joint secretary of the organization, said, “We offer Namaz, we are Imams, we have the support of the people, but those who neither lead the Namaz nor have anything to do with this issue, are confusing. That’s why we have formed the Gurugram Imam organization, under which we will offer namaz peacefully at 20 places. We want to make our stand clear instead of relying on anyone else as others are politicizing the matter.
Muslim Rashtriya Manch president Khurshid Razaka, who was accompanying the delegation of imams, said the theme of Friday prayers is “of the people and the imams”.
“No party or outsider should politicize or interfere in this,” he said. Before becoming representative of Hindus or Muslims, we should become representative of Gurugram and work for peace and unity in the city,” Razaka said.
Over the past few weeks, Friday prayers in public places have met with strong protests in parts of the city, with local organizations protesting and submitting memorandums calling for the ban. Last week, the district administration and police had issued 37. Permission to offer Namaz at eight o’clock was withdrawn Nominated Approved Sites in 2018
