The district administration on Tuesday finalized the temporary resettlement plan for Chintel Paradiso residents, asking the builder to work on the permanent settlement proposal by March 11.

On February 10, two women were killed when the dining room floor of a sixth-floor apartment at Chintel Paradiso in Sector 109 collapsed, causing the ceilings and floors to fall straight down to the first floor.

In a letter written to the builder, DTPE RS Bhath explained the latest terms including the transfer charges for rent.

“While the committee constituted by the District Magistrate is continuously working for the rehabilitation of the affected families, coordinating the structure audit being conducted by IIT Delhi and taking preventive measures to avoid any future mishaps in the society.

“You have already been directed to submit a rational proposal after going through various representations received from the residents of Tower D-4 and the proposal will be submitted by 11.03.2022,” read the order.

As per the order, the builder was directed to pay Rs 25,000 per flat for size 1,785 sq ft, Rs 30,000 for a flat of size 2,050 sq ft and Rs 37,000 per flat for 2,630 sq ft as rent per month Is. (Average Rs.14/sq.ft).

In addition to the above, the owners currently residing in these towers will also be paid a lump sum amount of Rs.

The order states that the owners of E, F, G and H Towers are free to shift to the location identified by them and the above fee shall be paid by the builder with a commitment that in writing for payment of rent 3 months rent with commitment will be paid for a total of 11 months or till the finalization of the report of IIT, Delhi based on which further directions will also be issued by the committee.

DC Nishant Kumar Yadav said, “We have the welfare of the residents as our top priority. We have taken up the temporary relocation and rehabilitation work, which will be borne by the builder.”
