Passers-by took Singh to the civil hospital, where he died during treatment. He lived with his wife and mother in Farukhnagar on rent and used bamboo and curtain partitions for flats and houses. He was the only working member of the family.
Ram Kumar, an eyewitness, said the bus driver was not looking straight as he was busy talking. “He lost control and hit the biker. After the accident, the bus hit the road divider and came to a halt,” Kumar said, adding that the driver fled the spot and left his bus.
Police have registered a case under sections 279 (rash driving) and 304A (death in accident) of IPC against unidentified bus driver at Farukhnagar police station. The bus involved in the accident was running on the Gurugram-Farukhnagar route.
Police spokesman Subhash Boken said, “We are trying to trace the owner and driver of the bus.”
