28 hospitalized after drinking spurious liquor at a fair in Gurugram

Twenty-eight people were hospitalized after consuming spurious soft drinks at a fair of “Buddo Mata Mandir” located in Mubarikpur, Gurugram.

Adults and children consumed spurious soft drinks on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday, and soon thereafter experienced restlessness and vomiting.

He was taken to a civil hospital in Gurugram, where his condition is stated to be out of danger after receiving first aid, police said.

The incident was reported by Bhakt Sushil, a resident of Delhi.

He told the police that he along with his family members had gone to ‘Buddo Mata Mandir’ on Tuesday night.

“At the fair, a 30-year-old man came to us and offered a free soft drink in the form of ‘prasad’ in a glass, which was drank by my nephew Riya and my brother Monica’s wife and after half an hour the condition of both of us. His health deteriorated. We immediately took him to the hospital for treatment.”

The complainant also alleged that the temple management did not adopt proper security measures for the devotees. They also did not install CCTV cameras in the premises and surrounding areas.

A doctor from the civil hospital told reporters that several patients, including children brought to the hospital, complained of drowsiness and vomiting.

“Everyone’s health condition is stable,” he told reporters.

Following the complaint, a case has been registered against an unknown person at Farrukhnagar police station under relevant sections of the IPC.

The station in-charge (SHO) said, “We are probing the matter to find out the motive behind the incident. The people who had come to the fair were not robbed. We have taken a sample of alcoholic soft drink which was sent for testing.” Will go.” Farrukhnagar police station told IANS.
