Guru Purnima 2023 is a special day of celebration for Hindus around the world. It marks the day when the Vedic sage Vyasa was born. This important day is celebrated every year on the full moon day of the Hindu month of Ashadha. This festival is considered to be a very auspicious occasion as it signifies the importance of a spiritual master in the life of a devotee. Now, on to Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center (NMACC), the second day of Guru Purnima celebrations was led by a family that embodies the essence of the Guru-shishya parampara with the legacy of 17th century Indian classical music.

Welcoming sarod maestro Padma Vibhushan Ustad Amjad Ali Khan with his sons Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash and the maestro’s grandchildren – 10-year-old twins Zohan and Abir Ali Bangash, on the stage of Grand Theatre, Mrs. Nita Ambani expressed Did his appreciation towards eminent artists.

Nita Ambani said, “The performance of Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and his family represents a remarkable symphony of life. It is a fusion of musical heritage that transcends time and celebrates the coming together of three extraordinary generations – the maestro of all time, the pioneers of today and the disciple. He ended his speech with chanting of Guru Vandana.

As on the previous day, a whole host of spectators attended The Grand Theatre. The reverberation amplified by the space’s world-class acoustics filled it with an air of reverence, setting the stage for the evening’s captivating performances. Aptly titled ‘Three generations, one legacy’.

Echoing the belief of Mrs. Nita Ambani, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan described the mother as the first teacher of the child. The maestro appreciated Guru Purnima being celebrated publicly on a platform like a cultural center and termed it as a great initiative. Presented by the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, the tradition is supposed to be an annual tribute to the eternal Guru-Shishya bond, guided by Mrs. Nita Ambani’s vision of showcasing the best of India to the world and bringing the best of the world to India Is. ,

The first edition of ‘Parampara: Ek Guru Purnima Special’ turned out to be a stupendous success as the spirit of the occasion struck a chord with 4000 viewers over two days.
