The meeting took place at the residence of National Conference leader and former Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah.

The leaders of the Gupkar alliance held a meeting at the residence of former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday. In this the demand for restoration of Article 370 and 35-A was reiterated. Mehbooba Mufti, Muzaffar Shah, Javed Mustafa Mir, Abdul Rehman Veri and MY Tarigami attended the meeting.

Coalition spokesperson and CPI(M) leader MY Tarigami said that the meeting was called to discuss the current situation in Jammu and Kashmir. During this, there was a discussion regarding the restoration of Article 370 giving special status. The meeting took place at 11 am at the residence of coalition president and National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah.

Leaders of many parties including coalition participated
The Gupkar alliance is an alliance of six mainstream political parties demanding restoration of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. In August 2019, the Narendra Modi government abolished the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. Apart from the leaders of these 6 parties, small and big leaders of many other parties also participated in this meeting.

The administration did not give permission for the meeting
Muzaffar Shah, Senior Vice President of Awami National Conference said that the agenda of the meeting, apart from the restoration of Article 370, is also to start a public relations programme. The permission for this meeting was not given by the administration. Coalition leader Shah said that we are holding a democratic meeting and the government cannot stop us from doing so.
