AHMEDABAD: 16 new Covid-19 positive cases were reported in Gujarat in the 24 hours ended 5 pm on Friday. It was a 60% jump in a day from 10 on Thursday. With the discharge of 17 persons and the death of one COVID patient from Bhavnagar district, the active cases came down from two to 149.
The new positive cases include 4 each from Ahmedabad and Vadodara city, 3 from Bhavnagar, 2 each from Surat city and district and 1 from Mahisagar district.
The number of patients on ventilator increased to 5, as the death toll rose to 10,082 with the death of one patient. The recovery rate stood at 98.7%.
Gujarat vaccinated 5.25 lakh people in 24 hours, including 3.52 lakh for the first dose and 1.73 lakh for the second dose. Vaccination of 38,693 persons was recorded in Ahmedabad.
