Two days back, a video of a couple offering Namaz outside the main gate of the Sanskrit College inside the MSU campus had surfaced on social media.

A video of two students offering prayers on the Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) campus in Gujarat’s Vadodara city went viral on Monday, with authorities saying they would advise the duo to refrain from offering prayers in future as it was an academic practice. It is an institute.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) workers on Monday sprinkled Gangajal and performed ‘Ram-dhun’ at the spot, alleging a conspiracy behind offering prayers on the university campus. Recited Hanuman Chalisa outside the college.

MS University public relations officer Lakulish Trivedi said that after learning about the incident, the vigilance team of the university reached the spot and called the police to maintain law and order, as the examination was going on in the building.

Both were B.Com second year students. He offered prayers before going inside the building for the examination. As their examinations are underway, the university administration will call them for counseling in the coming days to make them understand that it is an educational institution and they should refrain from such activities on the campus.

Meanwhile, scrutiny of Saturday’s video revealed that the couple belonged to some other district and were accompanying their son/daughter, who was to appear in the CCC exam to be held on December 24 at another building near the college.

“People from different districts came here as MSU was the only center in the whole of central Gujarat. The security guards immediately reached the spot and asked them to offer prayers elsewhere. The couple apologized and left the spot.”

Speaking on the issue, BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, who was present in Vadodara, said that people should not indulge in such things inside educational campuses.

“Educational institutions are sacred and people should refrain from doing so here,” he said.

A VHP leader said there was an alleged conspiracy behind both the incidents.

“Such incidents are deliberate and are part of a conspiracy. They (Muslims) are challenging Hindus by doing such acts. And we are ready to accept that challenge too. We will submit a detailed memorandum to the university authorities tomorrow. Vishnu Prajapati, secretary of VHP’s Vadodara unit, said, “Security should be tight in the campus.
