The Green Gold Group has now ventured into film production with the banner name Chilaka Productions. The banner and its logo were unveiled recently by ace producers Allu Aravind and Sharat Marar.

The launch event was held on Monday, December 4, where Srinivas Chilaka and Rajeev Chilaka were also present. During the press conference, Srinivas Chilaka said that senior actor CSR Anjaneyulu is their great-grandfather, who had earned his own identity with multiple roles in drama. His grandfather Nageswara Rao worked as an associate director at Vahini Studio. Nageswara worked for many films like Guna Sundari Katha, Mallishwari, Mayabazar and many more.

Srinivas Chilaka shared that Rajeev Chilaka had called him one day and informed him about leaving his job in San Francisco and returning to Hyderabad. Notably, Rajeev Chilaka studied animation in the US. They started the Green Gold company together and introduced The Krishna animation series in 2004; and in 2008, they launched Chhota Bheem. “Chhota Bheem became so successful and it paved the way for Indian animation. It has been running successfully for 15 years now. In 2012, we released Chhota Bheem in theatres. Rajeev directed and produced 116 animated films in TV and theatre. As part of this journey, we have started Chilaka Productions,” Srinavas Chilaka.

Rajeev Chilaka also shared that after he watched The Lion King, he thought of making a movie like it in India. Disney World has always been an inspiration to him. He also mentioned that Chilaka Production is currently producing two Telugu films and one Hindi film for children. He also expressed his wish to become a successful producer like Allu Aravind and wants everyone to support their home banner.

Producer Sharat Marar congratulated the Chikala Production and said that Green Gold has created a solid impact in the field of animation with Chhota Bheem and The Krishna Series. “Rajeev has good leadership and creativity skills. It is a pleasure to start this banner along with ace producer Allu Aravind garu. I think great movies will be made under the banner of Chilaka Productions,” he added.

Allu Aravind felt honoured to introduce them to the industry. The ace producer also shared an anecdote of his father who had come to Chennai 70 years ago, leaving his mother in the village with the goal to work in the entertainment industry.

“Rajeev’s Chhota Bheem was launched in Telugu by me. Later, I noticed Chhota Bheem toys on balloons in Panjagutta (Telangana) and was shocked at how popular the show is,” he added. He also compared Rajeev Chilaka and SS Rajamouli and called it, not an exaggeration and reasoned out that he has seen the same kind of madness in Rajeev. “I hope Chilaka Productions produces many more successful films and heartily congratulate them,” Allu Aravind concluded.

In 2021, Green Gold founded its VFX company and has contributed to the films including Godfather, Dasara, Bangarraju and Charlie. In the following year, they also established Green Gold Studios.
