Ravichandran Ashwin gave a befitting reply to a fan who called him ‘Anna Bhaiya’ during IND vs AUS 1st Test
Ravichandran Ashwin was in unstoppable form as he picked up five wickets to help the Indian cricket team beat Australia by an innings and 132 runs in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023.
Ashwin rattled Australia’s batting line-up by dismissing the likes of Usman Khawaja, David Warner, Matt Renshaw, Peter Handscomb and Alex Carey, leaving the visitors in trouble. India by 223 runs in the second innings.
In the end, Pat Cummins’ team were bowled out for just 91 runs, losing all 10 wickets in a single session as the First Test ended in just 3 days.
After the match, Ashwin took to his Twitter handle and came up with a funny tweet as he revealed that one of the fans in Nagpur called him ‘Anna Bhaiya’.
Hailing from Chennai, being called ‘Anna’ is nothing new for Ashwin, however, he took to his Twitter account and corrected the fan that both ‘Anna’ and ‘Bhaiya’ mean the same thing, which is elder brother. Are.
He also thanked his fans for their love.

Meanwhile, talking about India’s win, Ashwin credited players like Ravindra Jadeja and Akshar Patel for playing a key role in the victory.
While Jadeja took a five-wicket haul in the first innings to help India restrict the Aussies to a mammoth total of 177, he also contributed 70 with the bat. Patel also played a brilliant knock of 84, helping India reach the 400-run mark.

Jadeja then picked up a couple of wickets on the third day and the entire Australian team folded like a pack of cards, thanks to the impressive performance of India’s spin attack.
“Massive help is an understatement,” Ashwin told broadcasters, asking how it feels to bowl with Jadeja.
He said, ‘He (Jadeja) is in excellent form. The way he has batted, the way he has bowled and we don’t need to talk about how well he moves in the field. He has been a wonderful cricketer. I am very thankful that I have got a partner like him to bowl with me.”
