For Afghanistan, the last two decades are considered one of the most important and prosperous eras in the level of education in the country.

Earlier, the Taliban had also banned girls from attending secondary schools. Teenage Afghan girls were not allowed to return to school as classes reopened across the country in September for the first time since the Taliban came to power in August.

The education ministry’s statement did not mention girls, which is a de facto restriction on their attending secondary school for now. The Taliban have allowed girls up to grade six to attend school, but they will be taught in separate classes from boys.
