In a bid to modernise government schools in Bihar, efforts are underway to equip them with hi-tech resources. The focus is on establishing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) labs in secondary and higher secondary schools across the Nalanda district. As part of this project, 149 schools in the district have been selected.

The ICT labs will provide students with access to digital resources, and they will be able to get information about the subject through educational videos during classes. Lab material will soon be available in these schools.

Rajkumar, the District Education Officer, said that with the establishment of IT labs in the secondary and higher secondary schools of the district, the students studying there will have direct contact with the digital world, and the children will be able to enhance their knowledge by connecting with the country and the world while sitting in the class. ICT labs will be constructed in 149 high schools in the district. For this, the secondary and higher secondary schools present in all the blocks of the district have been selected by the department.

He added that the ICT Lab is a digital library that has been designed to eliminate the infrastructural and psychological barriers that limit the use of technology in schools. The lab setup will include Android tablets, laptops, notebooks, charging trolleys, etc.

The officer further said that children will get an opportunity to get acquainted with new technology through the IT Lab. Students can use computers and other technology in the laboratory to complete assignments, conduct research, and learn new techniques. The latest technology and software, as well as practical experience, can help students achieve their full potential in the field of technology and computers.

In the last few years, this technology has been introduced in classrooms to generate genuine interest in the studies of students through visuals, sound effects and animations. Construction work for the IT labs in schools is expected to commence soon, providing students with deeper insights into subjects and new technologies, Rajkumar added.
