The economy affected by Corona is now seen to be back on track. At the same time, the income of the government is also increasing. The GST collection has increased to Rs 1.17 lakh crore in September as compared to August, which was Rs 1.12 lakh crore in August.

GST collection up 23% on a yearly basis
The government said that the GST collection has increased by 23% to Rs 1,17,010 lakh crore in September 2021 as compared to the previous year i.e. September 2020. Experts say that the continuous increase in GST collection is a good sign for the government and the country’s economy.

Government got Rs 8,754 crore from Cess
Central Goods and Service Tax (CGST) collection in September increased from Rs 20,522 crore to Rs 20,578 crore in comparison to August. State Goods and Service Tax (SGST) collection stood at Rs 26,767 crore as against Rs 26,605 crore in August. Apart from this, the Integrated Goods and Service Tax (IGST) collection stood at Rs 60,911 crore as against Rs 56,247 crore in August. While the cess has increased from Rs 8,646 crore to Rs 8,754 crore.

Let us tell you that the GST collection came down to less than Rs 1 lakh crore in June 2021 after remaining more than Rs 1 lakh crore for 9 consecutive months. After this, in July, the GST collection again reached above 1 lakh crore. Now the GST collection for 3 consecutive months is above Rs 1 lakh crore.
