Government will supply fortified rice to the poor by 2024: PM Modi India News – Times of India

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Announced on Sunday that the government will strengthen the rice distributed to the poor through various schemes like mid-day meals to overcome the problem of malnutrition.
In his Independence Day speech, Modi said, “Malnutrition and micronutrient deficiencies are affecting the development of poor children. In view of this, it has been decided to strengthen the rice given to the poor through various government schemes. Has gone.”
Modi, who hoisted the tricolor at the historic Red Fort before the speech, said the rice available under every government program, whether from ration shops or under the mid-day meal scheme, would be strengthened by the year 2024.
At present, out of 15 States, Central Scheme on ‘Fortified Rice’ and its distribution through Public Distribution System have been identified (public distribution system)’, five are implementing it on a pilot basis in one district each.
Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtrahandjob Tamil Nadu And Chattisgarh Rice mixed with nutrients has started to be distributed in their respective district.
