There is good news for the passengers traveling by buses in Punjab. Employees of PRTC, PUNBUS and Punjab Roadways have called off their strike after 9 days. Due to which now government buses have started running on the routes in and outside the state from Wednesday. Apart from within the state from Punjab, there is movement of buses to Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu. With this, women who have taken advantage of the free bus travel scheme have also started getting facilities. However, the employees have warned that if their demand is not met by September 29, then they will go on indefinite strike.

Return to work after 30% salary hike, to confirm decision in 8 days
Contract bus workers on Monday last week went on an indefinite strike and blocked government buses. After which 8 thousand government buses were left standing in 29 depots in Punjab. After this, it was resolved after the second conversation with the employees. The government increased his salary by 30% and assured to increase the salary by 5% every year. Apart from this, 8 days’ time was sought for the decision to confirm them. In return, the employees gave him 14 days’ time. After this, the strike has been opened from Monday.

It caused a loss of more than 20 crores to the Transport Department. Employee leaders say that the government should have thought that not to procrastinate again and again.
