According to local media reports, the woman made several suicide attempts after her husband disapproved of her extramarital relationship with a young man from a neighboring village. About a month ago, she allegedly tried to end her life by jumping from the fifth floor of a building. Prior to this incident, she had also attempted suicide by rushing to the railway tracks.

Actually, following the discovery of her affair, a heated argument erupted between the couple, during which the woman insisted that the other man be allowed to reside in their home and contribute financially. Ram Govind objected to the proposal and hastily left the premises.
The woman’s ascent up the electric pole, captured on video and widely circulated online, left onlookers stunned. Spectators urged her to descend as they watched in horror while she precariously balanced atop the pole, surrounded by high-tension wires.
In response to the crisis, local Gorakhpur authorities acted swiftly by dispatching teams from both the police and electricity departments to the scene. As a precautionary measure, the electricity supply was cut off, and efforts to persuade the woman to descend from her precarious position began. Through patient negotiation, the authorities successfully convinced the woman to come down to safety.
