Google takes on Drake’s ‘Tex Go Green’ song to ask Apple to put RCS on iPhones

Apple iPhones do not support RCS messaging, a modern, web-based messaging standard that is said to replace SMS and MMS. Google launched the RCS messaging standard that will open up the possibility of seamless messaging between Android and Apple, but will also bring features like typing indicators, read receipts, end-to-end encryption, and more.

In its latest attempt to push Apple to introduce support for RCS messages, Google has launched a short video clip that takes inspiration from a song from pop star Drake’s latest ‘Texts Go Gree’. In a tweet from the official Android Twitter handle. Drake’s song talks about someone who left a relationship because their partner wasn’t communicating properly, with “Tex Go Green” meaning when an iPhone user gets blocked.

In their video, the Android team said, “The Android team thinks about Drake’s new song “Texts Go Green is a Real Banger”. It refers to the event when an iPhone user gets blocked or tries to send a text message to a user who doesn’t have an iPhone. Either way, it’s tough enough. If only some super talented engineer team Apple can fix it. Because this is a problem that only Apple can fix, they really have to adapt to RCS. This will make texting even more secure. That’s all I am saying, it was a great track,” says the voice in the video.
