Google rolls out two new features in Messages app in India – Times of India

internet search giant Google New features have been introduced for messaging app To make it easier for users in India to make important distinctions messages from unimportant people.
“We have heard from many users in India that they receive a variety of messages from friends and family and businesses sending promotions, receipts, order confirmations and more. With so many upcoming lessons vying for your attention, it can be difficult to separate the important ones from everything else. To help you manage your messages with ease, today we have two new updates to the Messages app to share,” the company said.
Here’s a look at them in detail:
new organization layout
The first feature Messages will get is support for a new layout, which will be powered by machine learning. Google says Messages will sort users’ messages into categories including Personal, Transactional, OTP, which should ideally help in finding messages easily at the time of need.
This means that bank transactions and bills will be filtered in the Transactions tab and the conversations with the saved numbers will be reflected in the Personal tab. “It all happens securely on your device so your conversations stay in the app and you can access your classified messages offline,” Google said.

Auto-delete of OTP
This feature of Messages app will enable users to keep their inbox free of clutter by automatically deleting the one-time password (OTP) 24 hours after it is received. This feature has to be enabled manually by tapping ‘Continue’ when the app prompts you to confirm the selection.
When do these features start?
These features will be rolled out in English on Android phones running Android 8 and newer in India in the coming weeks on the Messages app, according to a company blog post. These features are optional and can be managed in Settings.
