Google Maps reportedly working on ‘dock to bottom’ feature, here’s how it works – Times of India

Google Maps One of the most popular navigation apps around the world and constantly adding new features to keep that position. To take this further, the company is reportedly planning to roll out a new feature that will allow users to dock places and businesses to the bottom of the Maps page. According to a report by search engine Roundtable, users can see a new blue colored “dock to bottom” button that allows them to dock a location so that they can reopen it later.
As per the screenshot shared with the report, the feature has placed the Dock in the footer of the Maps interface. As of now, this feature has been seen by only a few PC users and it is not yet clear whether the new button will come to the tablet or smartphone. As of now, the tech giant has not given any information about the spotted feature.
Last month, the company announced new features for Google Maps to make getting around better and easier during the holiday season. The tech giant announced some new features through an official blog post. The company said it is expanding the Directory tab to provide more detailed information on how to navigate around large buildings such as markets, shopping malls, airports, transit stations, and more. The Directory tab provides users with information about a particular location such as what type of mall has stores, on which floor a particular store is located, its rating, which floor it is located on and much more.
The company also announced the Area Business feature which is designed to help people find out when a nearby area or a particular part of the city is at its busiest. The new feature also lets users check how busy a particular area or location is at different times of the day.
