Google: Google plans to make ‘Downloads’ more accessible in Chrome – Times of India

Google adding new features to chrome Web browser to improve and simplify the overall browsing experience for the users. The company recently added several new features such as new easy navigation for web pages, a built-in screenshot tool and more.
Rumors suggest that the company is now working on a new Download Hub shortcut for Chrome. There will be a new user interface similar to the one in the download section microsoft edge In which there is a popup download dropdown which automatically disappears once the job is done.
Chrome currently offers a dedicated page for downloads and also a prominent bar at the bottom of the screen which not only consumes space but is also quite annoying.
Reddit user u/Leopeva64-2 has reported that Google will change the new download UI in a future update Google Chrome And it will replace the existing download interface with a new download icon next to the omnibox.
Usage also highlights whether the icon will turn blue once the download has started or if there is an active download and will automatically turn gray and disappear after the download is finished.
Microsoft Edge, which is also a Chromium-based web browser, currently features a similar interface, except for the fact that it is placed near the profile icon.
Another change that will be visible to the Downloads section as part of the update is a new circle that will indicate the progress of the download in real-time.
This feature is being tested if you want to try out the new Download UI in Chrome chrome canary,
