Google Duo: Google Duo will soon get a new home screen UI – Times of India

Google Is releasing an update for google duo App that brings a simple homescreen. The update was announced by the company through a support forum post and was first spotted by Android Police.
Google says it will remove the old button. It will add a “New Call” button instead.
The button, as Google says in the post, will be enabled duo app For users to initiate calls, create groups, view group and contact lists on Google Duo, and make calls on their “Home” devices. This update will be rolled out to Google Duo app users in the next few weeks.
In the post, Google explains how users can access features that it will remove from the home screen. To send a message to a contact, one has to tap on the contact and then click on the message button. If they want to send messages to multiple users, they must first create a group. To create a new group, tap on the New Call button and then click on the Create Group link.
Contacts and existing groups can be searched through the search or through the “New Call” entry point. Anyone can invite a friend to Google Duo by tapping on “New Call” and searching for a contact in the search bar or under Contacts List.
With the growing popularity of Google Meet, the company seems to have shifted its focus away from Google Duo. The tech giant introduces some of the features of the Duo app google meet Forum. These include the recently added ability to add call filters and effects. It is rumored that the Google Duo app may soon be phased out with Meet as Google’s primary video conferencing platform.
