Voice assistants have become an integral part of smartphones and smart devices in homes and Google definitely has an advantage over the rest.
Google is analyzing millions of users, and all this data has helped the search giant assimilate a powerful tool in the form of the Google Assistant. Google’s Assistant goes up against Apple’s Siri, Amazon with Alexa and some might even say Samsung with Bixby. Tested by popular YouTuber MKBHD Shows that the assistant is miles ahead of the competition, not just with basic tasks but with complex commands that are often taken up.
Testing shows that Google Assistant, Siri, and Alexa are good at basic tasks like setting an alarm, helping with weather updates, or providing some basic trivia. Interestingly, Google and Samsung proved to be very close in terms of the control offered on the devices, which is somehow limited to Siri as it is exclusive to Apple products.
Both Bixby and Google Assistant allow you to use voice commands to take a picture or start a voice recording. You also have the option to play the show netflix through assistant. Alexa mostly loses out on smartphones because of its lack of cohesion, which has helped Google master, train, and develop AI voice technology.
Things change dramatically when it comes to using these voice assistants in your home via other compatible smart devices.
Amazon has used its market knowledge to expand Alexa’s reach to third-party devices, similar to what Apple is eventually doing to some extent with the Matter and HomeKit. Most people have no problem choosing Alexa instead of the other two to add smartness to their smart home use case or even their TV.
